Georgetown, Texas, August 09, 2023.  The Anna+Anton Olson Legacy Foundation (TAAOLF) is excited to announce the third annual grant cycle to distribute up to $150,000.  Established in 2021, the Foundation was founded to provide philanthropic grants to help strengthen the Georgetown, Hutto and Taylor communities through a life cycle of caring.  Nonprofits supporting these three communities are encouraged to apply at www.ctxcf.org/taaolf, and the deadline for submission is September 22, 2023.

According to the founder, Larry Olson, “With a growing focus on building collaboration within the local philanthropic community, the 2023 team that will be scoring all submitted grant applications will consist of board members from three local community foundations.  I am very excited that the Central Texas Community Foundation, Chisholm Trail Communities Foundation, and Greater Taylor Foundation have all agreed to assist in our 2023 Grant Program.  This novel collaborative approach will strengthen our grant evaluation process and ensure strong representation from the three Community Focus Areas.”

Nonprofits may apply for either support for operations or support for specific programs as long as the focus is within one or more of the following three areas:

  • Give underserved children more opportunities to grow and thrive;
  • Foster a spirit of entrepreneurship with youth and young adults in underserved areas; and/or
  • Provide independence and dignity to seniors trying to live at home.

 The Anna+Anton Olson Legacy Foundation honors the lives of two pioneers who separately emigrated from Sweden as teenagers – Anton in 1902 from Skåne and Anna in 1907 from Värmland.   They met in Chicago and married in 1909.  They moved to Texas in 1911 and eventually settled on a farm outside Taylor, Texas in 1916.
