The newly established Greater Taylor Foundation (GTF) was awarded a $10,000 grant from The Anna+Anton Olson Legacy Foundation on June 26, 2023.
The grant will enable GTF to start an important community-wide needs assessment that will identify potential needs and help the GTF focus its efforts on meeting the most pressing community issues in the Taylor area.
The City of Taylor, a town of around 16,000, is expected to experience rapid growth over the next few years with the construction of the new $17 billion Samsung Semiconductor Plant.
The Community Needs Assessment is Phase 1 GTF’s 3-part Impact Taylor Initiative. “There are needs in the community that have been identified and there are new situations on the horizon due to the significant development of the area, Impact Taylor will help to identify and quantify where we can best focus our efforts for the greatest good.” Amy Merida, Executive Director, Central Texas Community Foundation
The Community Needs Assessment team will use both qualitative and quantitative data and produce a comprehensive written report to the public in early fall of 2023.
GTF was established by community leaders in 2022 and is a new community foundation mission is to advance community giving with those who care and causes that matter.
